Baisakhi is a significant harvest festival observed in Punjab and other regions of north India. While Baisakhi is a large-scale celebration in Punjab, it also marks the start of the Sikh calendar year. It is an important festival for both Hindus and Sikhs in Punjab symbolising the start of the harvest season for Punjabi farmers as well as the New Year in the traditional Bikram calendar.
In accordance to that students of Gandhi house of Shri Ram Global School also celebrated the baisakhi festival by doing a special assembly by dressing up in traditional costumes, performing folk dances, and singing songs. Later in the classrooms, teachers showed students videos related to baisakhi. Students of Pre-Nursery to Grade 2 made different crafts and cards for baisakhi.
Baisakhi celebrations are incomplete without spectacular feasts and a diverse range of traditional cuisine so students also served everyone traditional “Kadha Prasad”. Our principal also appreciated the efforts of the students and also motivated students about the importance of festival and the historical traditional reason behind the celebration.
