“Let sports be your teacher — discipline, resilience, and respect are its greatest lessons”
Shri Ram Global School celebrated National Sports Day on 29th August 2025, marking the birth anniversary of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, widely known as the “Wizard of Hockey.” The occasion was dedicated to honouring his contribution to Indian sports and encouraging students to embrace fitness, discipline, and teamwork.
Yashita Mishra, the head girl of the school, led the Prayer, followed by the Fit India Pledge taken by Sports Vice Captain Ayush.
The day began with a friendly football match, followed by the assembly highlighting the life and achievements of Major Dhyan Chand. The inspiring words about Major Dhyanchand, his life and take away for children was given by Poonam Ma’am, she really stole the show.
The highlight of the celebration was the Sports Day Prize Distribution Ceremony, where winners of various games like Skating Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess & Swimming were held during the week and were honoured too. The school principal, Ms. Shameem Singh, awarded certificates to the young achievers. Their hard work, enthusiasm, and team spirit were applauded by all present.
The event concluded with school anthem followed by National Anthem filling the atmospheria with enthusiasm and zeal.
