“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”
In the true spirit of compassion, the Pre-primary Wing of Shri Ram Global School, Lucknow, observed World Food Day on 16th October through meaningful SEWA activities in collaboration with Swapna Foundation, a volunteer-based NGO working for social welfare.
Celebration aimed to promote SDG 2 – Zero Hunger, focusing on ending hunger and ensuring food security for all. Two activities — Fistful of Joy and Sandwich Making— were organized to mark the day.
Under Fistful of Joy, students brought small quantities of dal and rice from home, contributing their “fistful” for the underprivileged. Everything was collected and handed over to Swapna Foundation volunteers for distribution among needy families, helping students understand the joy of sharing.
Simultaneously, students of Grades I and II participated in Sandwich Making Activity, bringing bread, butter, and cucumbers to prepare sandwiches in school. These were distributed to underprivileged children in slum areas.
The activities were conducted under the guidance of Principal Ms. Shameem Singh, with the cooperation of coordinators and teachers. It proved that even a fistful of kindness can make a difference.
