The time to fly some kites, the time to harvest new crops?,the time to taste the sweetness of til, the time to enjoy and chill.’?
Pre primary wing of Shri Ram Global School joyfully celebrated Lohri and Makar Sankranti on 13th January 2026 to foster cultural awareness and festive spirit among young learners. The programme began with a warm welcome extended to parents and students.
The celebration was formally inaugurated with an inspiring speech by our Pre-Primary coordinator Ms. Nivedita Sahai, who highlighted the significance of Lohri and Makar Sankranti. She emphasised the importance of introducing traditional values and festivals to children at an early age, thereby nurturing respect for India’s rich heritage.
After that symbolic Lohri bonfire activity was organised to familiarise students with the historical rituals of the festival. The ambience was enlivened by traditional Lohri songs and festive music, followed by energetic dance performances, where everyone participated enthusiastically.
An exciting kite-flying activity added colour and excitement to the celebrations, much to the delight of the children. The event concluded on a festive note with the distribution of traditional offerings such as kheel, revadi, peanuts, and popcorn as takeaways. This celebration was a memorable experience, reinforcing cultural values, joy, and togetherness within the school community.
