World Forest Day: Tree Plantation Drive

World Forest Day (1)

On the occasion of World Forest Day, a Tree Plantation Drive was conducted by the students of Shri Ram Global School, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, with the guidelines of CBSE- SEWA programme.

The main aim of the drive was to direct the young minds of the students in constructive activities with positive outcome through the facilitation of contributing to society.

Students planted multiple saplings in the green belt area of the school.

During the process, apart from what plants give us normally like food and Oxygen etc, students were also informed about lesser known characteristics like: they can listen and feel, too.

Nothing can be complete about forests, without a discussion about Tigers.

They protect crops and forests by protecting them from herbivores.

Ozone layer:

It has developed a big hole in it, due to global warming. Afforestation helps repair that damage.

Governments of the countries are spending millions to protect green cover.

Interplanetary shifting:

According to Steven Hawkins, man will require to move to another habitable planet to survive. Hence we need to keep the Earth in livable condition till the time we achieve that capacity of hyper space travel.

So we need to keep the forests alive which give us everything.

Students also named the saplings and pledged that they’ll look after them, ensuring their survival.
