Baisakhi Celebration

Baisakhi is a festival that marks the onset of a new season. It is also a time to harvest crops. Therefore, Pre-Primary wing of Shri Ram Global School celebrated the festival of Baisakhi. Special assembly was conducted to mark the importance of this festival. The students were dressed in colourful Punjabi attire.  Few students narrated the history and importance of Baisakhi through the speech.  Teachers explained students about the process of harvesting and took them to the display area to see the freshly harvested wheat crop bundles. The main attraction of the day was the dhol beats on which children did Bhangra. Children also did colouring activities related to Baisakhi and relish the sweet ‘Halwa’ while watching the video related to Baisakhi.

In senior section a special assembly was conducted by the students of Gandhi House to welcome the harvest season. The students highlighted the religious, political and cultural significance of the festival through an enlightening speech and musical drama.

The Jallianwala Bagh massacre enacted by the students left the audience teary eyed. Students dressed as Panj Pyare highlighted the importance of Khalsa tradition initiated by the Tenth Guru Of Sikhism, Guru Gobind Singh.

The assembly concluded with an energetic dance performance marking and spreading festivity around.
The motive behind the celebrations was to apprise the students of the rich culture and heritage of Punjab.
