“May all the paths lead home and all your worries are taken care of by lord Krishna“
Janmashtami, the festival commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Shri Ram Global School Lucknow (Pre Nursery to Grade 2), on 28 August, 2024 (Wednesday). The celebration aimed to not only imbibe the essence of the festival but also educate students about its significance and traditions. Janmashtami is the celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth- who is regarded as an avatar of the Hindu God Vishnu. The festival is celebrated on the Ashtami tithi, the eighth day of Krishna Paksha of the Hindu month of Bhadrapad.
The school premises were adorned with colorful traditional motifs, and vibrant streamers, evoking the spirit of festivity. Short cultural program was organized, showcasing the talents of students. The highlights of the event included- Bhajan by Students of grade 2 A and a Colorful dance performance by students of K.G-C which enthralled the audience.
A special puja ceremony was conducted, followed by the breaking of the Dahi Handi
The Tiny Tots from P-Nursery to KG were dressed up as Krishna and Radha.
Children were shown a short video on Janmashtami followed by craft activity.
Through this event, students not only experienced the joy of celebrating a traditional festival but also imbibed values of unity, harmony, and devotion associated with Lord Krishna. It was a memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved, fostering a sense of cultural pride and communal harmony within the school community.
