“Plant a tree today for a better tomorrow”
Van Mahotsav is celebrated in the first week of July to inspire people to unite and save the forests. This festival was founded in 1950 to raise people’s awareness towards the importance of trees and forests in our lives and to protect the environment. After all, humans cannot survive without trees, and afforestation is the need of the hour.
Having said this Pre-Primary and Primary segment of Shri Ram Global School celebrated Van Mahotsav from 03 July – 05 July in the school premises . The students were elated to come back after a long summer break and participated in the celebration of Van Mahotsav with full enthusiasm. The day began with the assembly where kids were briefed about the importance of trees in our lives and plantations. Later Students of grade 1 & 2 planted saplings in the school premises with the pledge of taking care of these plants. While students of grade 3 to 5 made slogan and placards adhering to the theme ‘More trees, More Life’.
Students of grade 6-8 had Hindi slogan writing competition on the topic “Van Sanrakshan”.
Students of Pre-nursery to Kindergarten planted saplings in small earthen pots which were given to them as a takeaway memento with a promise to take care of those saplings.
They were also shown videos related to the theme in their classrooms. Over all it was a great learning experience for these tiny tots.
