“Celebrations never end at Shri Ram Global School!” – the often self-quoted phrase from the ones whose celebratory spirit, intriguing love and excitement resounded on the arrival of the most awaited and favourite season of the year – Spring.

The festival of Basant Panchami marks the end of winter and heralds in spring and is celebrated on the fifth day of the Hindu month of Magha. This day also holds importance as it is believed to be the birthday of Maa Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, language, music and arts. This festival also celebrates the ripening of the mustard crop, the blooming of its flowers, their yellow colour – a favourite of Maa Saraswati.

In the virtual fiesta of Basant Panchami, students of classes Pre-primary to Grade -I engaged in a number of activities to celebrate this auspicious day with great fervour and enthusiasm.

The celebrations commenced with Saraswati Vandana, seeking the blessings of the deity. This was followed by a presentation explaining the significance of this special day to our little ones, who enjoyed craft activity and gleefully shared their creativity with their classmates and teachers. Their happy faces only made this day extra special!

The spring of joy took over when students displayed their talent through dance on this joyous occasion. Everyone joined in the Aarti which was followed by the distribution of prasad.

The students truly enjoyed the celebration and enthusiastically shared the joy of festivity with everyone.

May the revered occasion of Basant Panchami bring the wealth of knowledge to you. May you be blessed by Goddess Saraswati and all your wishes come true.

Happy Basant Panchami!!
