International Yoga Day is celebrated annually on June 21, on a global stage that highlights the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Yoga is an ancient practice that originated in India and has gained immense popularity worldwide due to its numerous health benefits. International Yoga Day was declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, following a proposal by our honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.

Shri Ram Global School celebrated the 9th International Yoga Day on the 21 June,2023 under the theme- ‘Har Aangan Yog.’ Many teachers, parents and students attended this online yoga session. A brief introduction on yoga day was given in the beginning followed by the chanting of ‘Gayatri Mantra’ and pledge. In the online yoga session all the parents, teachers and students practised Surya Namaskar and performed various asanas like- Tadasana, Trikon asana, Vajra asana, Gaumukh asana, Bhujang asana, Dhanur asana, Halasana etc. These asanas were followed by Bhramari, Kapalbhati and Savasana Pranayams. By performing these pranayams students have learned to strengthen the connection between their body and mind which will improve their mental focus and concentration in the long run. The importance of these asanas was explained simultaneously.
The session ended with the Shanti Mantra- ‘ Sarve Bhavantu Sukhina.’
